Methodology & Teacher Training

As an experienced Second Language Teaching Methodologist, a holder of a Master of Arts in Philological Studies, with diplomas in Psychopeadagogy and Relational Psychology, I always apply a 100% personalised holistic approach when elaborating my didactic strategies.
 
In order to be effective beyond the instructional setting, any SLT methodology must always be tailored to the individual needs of each learner, while allowing them to set goals and reflect on their progress in using the foreign language for enjoyment, enrichment, and advancement.
 
This can only be achieved by combining diverse learner-centred and interactive teaching techniques and strategies that respect the so-called 5 C’s of language teaching:

I am also a certified Teacher Trainer, empowering educators to grow their craft and hone their skills.

I guide budding and experienced teachers in developing effective, reflective, engaging, interactive and student-centered teaching practices.

I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds—some just entering the profession, others with years of experience—supporting them through training sessions, workshops, mentoring, and classroom observations.

Over the years, in addition to standard teacher training courses, I have also authored and imparted several Creativity Workshops for ESL Teachers (Teachers of English as a Second Language).

Didactic Content Creation

Laughter in the classroom is no laughing matter.

Owing to the recent advances in the neurochemistry, we now know for sure what many good teachers have always suspected: endorphins boost memory and the learning process itself.
 
The more positive engagement and the less stress in the classroom, the quicker the information absorption. Therefore, it is of vital importance to make sure that the teaching materials we craft are not only practical and substantive, but also stimulating and interactive.
 
A key principle is weaving language learning into engaging subject matter, so as to motivate learners and improve their fluency and understanding of the target language and its culture.  
 

As a creator and editor of didactic materials, I put my advanced IT skills to a very good use in terms of editorial graphic design, desktop publishing, as well as audio-video editing, subtitling and text-to-speech content generation.

I further use AI-powered platforms to generate lesson plans, create quizzes, or develop summaries and transcripts from existing video or audio content.

Employing the principles of CLIL, or Content and Language Integrated Learning, I develop the following types of didactic content:

  • Multimedia: 

Videos, infographics, audio materials using a variety of accents, and images, which all help make the subject matter more engaging and accessible. 

  • Interactive content: 

Quizzes, games, and exercises to make learning more active and fun. 

  • Authentic materials: 

Using real-world resources like newspaper articles, TED talks, or movie clips to provide context and boost reading and listening skills. 

  • Written content: 

I use various blog posts, newsletters, and e-books  to share language tips, cultural insights, and practice exercises. 

Furthermore, I always make sure that every single class I teach:

Connect language learning to the culture of the target language makes the process more compelling and enriching.

I create content that helps learners avoid common errors, which can be very relatable and effective.
